As a follower of Jesus Christ, I am lead by the Spirit of God to publicly state that war, in all of its manifestations, is an evil that Christians are to have no apart with.

God's law for us humans has always been consistent that we are not to kill. In the 10 Commandments, he stated "Thou Shalt Not Kill" (Exodus 20:13) He also stated that "He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death." (Exodus 21:12)

Every human being, regardless of creed or belief, is created in the image of God. (Genesis 1:27, James 3:9) Taking life away from another image bearer of God is something that I am not allowed to do, for it is God alone who does these things. (Deutereonomy 32:39) And "The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: be bringeth down to the grave, and brigeth up." (1 Samuel 2:6) It is wrong for us to shed blood, "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God he made them." (Genesis 9:6)

God's Perfect Law was also expressed by the words of my Lord Jesus. On the Sermon of the Mount, the Lord Jesus Christ said to us "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." (Matthew 5:9 KJV) God looks favorably upon peacemakers, and they are called his children. Being a peacemaker is the opposite of someone is favor of War.

The concept of a just war, especially when preached by brothers in Christ, is an error most heinous. As the previous scriptures show, we are not to shed blood and we are called to be peacemakers. Our Lord Jesus said unto us "But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, thrn the other to him also." (Matthew 5:39) Jesus also tells us "Put up again the sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword." (Matthew 26:52). We are to turn the other cheek, and we not to take a sword. For if we do, we go against the commandments of Christ.

The Lord Jesus Christ commands up to be peaceful, to be peacemakers. And in the 21st century, that means for us to be against all wars.

I, Jaysen St. Onge, affirm all of these statements as true. I affirm that I am against all wars and all foreign involvement of other countries.
